Pumas Champion

Well my motivation to write this paper is that few time ago my favorite soccer time got the championship in Mexico, so I want to share with all my readers why I love this team and what kind of things I do like a fan

PUMAS UNAM
Well first I have to explain what it means Pumas and what it means UNAM. Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) is the biggest university in Latin America and in the beginning the team was created by students later on it become more professional, I will not go more deep in the history of the team because do not want you to get bored specially those who are not Mexican, second what means Pumas, puma is the Spanish name for the Cougar animal that the team adopted as the mascot.

Championships
The championship they won was the number 6 quite few compared to other traditional teams, I had to follow the way to the championship from internet, since I am out of Mexico, I can describe like miracles winnings, they score the goals in really advanced time for quarter finals at minute 89, for the semi finals it was minute 87 and in the final it was in extra time minute 112 of 120 in total, it was very lucky championship. To the other five I have the opportunity to enjoy only 3, back in 1991 and 2004 when they got two championships in line, the first one back in 1991 is better describe in the fan description, for the other two in 2004 I can say that I enjoy a lot the first one, because it was against the team my dad and older brothers follow, so we saw the game together in family and I could made fun of them for some time. Hope this number 6 continuous increasing until this cougar face seems to have hair in form of starts.

Javier like a fan
For the beginning I will try to related to you, how everything start, it seems that I was a very tedious child so it was 1991 Pumas match again the worst enemy (el America) and maybe my father was tired and ask me to see the game instead of be playing around, so I saw the game and at the end Pumas was the champion, and I asked my father which one is that team, he answer Los Pumas, and I said oh I will follow that team. The next memory come when I ask my family to buy the uniform that they use as a birthday present, this is maybe the most nice uniform of them I have, is blue, with the face of the puma in the front, and after I have the first one I decided to make a collection, collection that now days is about 26 jerseys, having all the uniform they use since 1997 until now, just missing two pieces, do not worry as soon as I work, I will go to the stadium and buy it, coz now days those pieces are so expensive around 1,000 US dollars. The first activity one fan have to do is follow their steps, see every match and read the news and visit his web site, for me is not that much, the next part will let you know why I do not like that much watch them in stadium or see their plays in TV, but I can share with you one of my experiences and the consequences it bring to my live. Once Pumas was playing the semifinals before the game I decorate my parents rooms with all the Pumas stuff I own, the game was going very good, I was really happy, but at the last minutes the referee made a mistake and give this team one penalty kick (for those who do not know about soccer, is one shoot that give high possibilities of mark goal) well the goalkeeper block the shoot but the ball was still in the area and one guy call Guadalupe Castaneda kick it in, my team lost in the last minute, and it was not fair, because referee made a mistake, I was very sad, and took off all my stuff from my parents room, and my family started make fun of me my mom said I cried but I remember I did not, since that day until now all the time I am talking about one Pumas match and my mom listen it, she always remember this moment and make fun of me. The next part is some part I would like do not exist but is there, and I have to talk about enjoy it.

The curse
Well this is a very hard thing to explain maybe with one table will be better, so pay attention to the table and you will understand.

Well before going out of my country for those 5 times I went to the stadium and they lost, I started to feel that maybe, me being there is not very good for the performance of the team, later on I started to notice that, when I saw the games in TV, most of the time they lost and when I do not most of the time they win, so I decided to see them play less, just follow the results every week, later on when I arrive Taiwan, after 4 months they were playing a final, but they lost it and now, after one year and a half more, they won the championship, so maybe I have to stay away from them, and that will bring good luck.

Fans
Some people could think Pumas could have the best fans in Mexico, the way they sing in the stadium, the way they feel every match, for me is bad, because is a copy of the fans in Argentina and are very violent, thing that make the family is not going anymore to see them play. In other hand we have that the philosophy of their game is play all the time looking for goals it does not matter if they visit or if they already are winning, that make many people that is not in Mexico city follow them or at least make them their second favorite team. I can say also that since this team belongs to a university, make many young people identify with them and also the students of this university.

Conclusion
Professional teams give the men the opportunity to develop your enthusiasm, your passion, to compete against other cities, other countries and the same time construct fraternity between countries or the participants of the tournaments, so I recommend follow one team, practice that sport and develop your passion, It will help you to have a break from daily live problems.

Jiou Fen 九份

Past days I have been reading “The Reader“ book, Jerry my classmate lend it to me, and I saw how writer describe every detail to make more interesting the book and I feel I like to write like that, but I think it will be very difficult, anyway I will try this cultural trip the most detail I can.

It was a Sunday day, I usually stay at home the Sunday but this time Brian had invited me to visit Jiou Fen, the meeting was at 13 hours in Zhong Xiao Fu Xing MRT Station for my bad luck and bad time planning I arrived 15 minutes earlier and since I do not like at all waiting I went to SOGO store that is in front of the place we arrange to meet. Before my friends told me I can get in that SOGO basement some good Mexican food products, so I went to take a look, I saw many imported products, all seem so delicious and all seems so luxury, even I saw one bottle of Chinese Green Tea, it was around 90NT so expensive. Anyway after keep watching things there, it was already 12, so I go back to the meeting place, when I arrived it starts to rain.

The first one to arrive there is Brian, he was using his umbrella because it was raining, and later the one who arrives was Iris with her cousin and finally 10 minutes later Connor arrive I taught we are ready to go there, but Connor said we have to wait his friends, they took around 30 minutes to arrive, as I said I hate waiting, and now I have to wait for people that I even do not know and when they arrived, they were not so friendly. We took the bus to got there, the ticket prize was 87 NT, I sited in front of the bus with Brian, we did not talk that much because Brian wanted to sleep, the way was so beautiful, Taiwan is so green and pretty but that is not this paper topic, later on we find many containers in the road, those containers are design to the use for big ships, to translate merchandise after a little investigation, I know it was use as harbor for the translation of the gold, when we just going to arrive the road become so full of curves and our bus driver seems do not want to be careful he keep driving fast, I felt dizzy and scared about the way he drives, but finally we arrived there, previously Brian have arrange with Jerry meet there coz he was in Yi Lan his hometown so when we arrived we met Jerry there.

Well in this point will be difficult to continue because I have to describe Jiou Fen and it will be difficult to describe it with my low English level but I will try my best. Jiou Fen is a small touristic place, with a lot of commerce and a beautiful see to the ocean, you can find many old style houses, now converted in restaurant and in the top of the mountain there is one really big temple, but is not the only one in the zone. Defiantly is a place you have to visit if you have the chance.

For my bad luck, the only think I can enjoy of Jiou Fen is the view, after we met Jerry we enter in this kind of street with all the souvenirs stores and food stores, I saw many food stores but not one I would like, the first think they bought it was stinky toufu with some brown kind of sauce in the top, well I had to past that I am not that into tofu, and while I was waiting the owner of the next store, kick me out the front part of his store in not very polite way, I want to say all the bad words I know to him, but at the moment I could not, every thing happened so fast, and after on while we keep waiting others, the daughter of the owner (that really do not seem to be a girl because the way she talk) came out and started to shout to my friends, that make me so angry but they as me did not know what to say, we just move out, later on while keep waiting, I put in front again and just see the face of the owner and trying to make him angry, but this time he just said nothing, after this bad experience with crazy people we keep walking the street, after the tofu, they go one kind of dessert store but again it was so Taiwanese for me, I decided not to eat, but this time, we have a place to sit, and the view was so amazing, we saw part of the town and the ocean, so pretty. In the middle of the street there was some stairs that lead us to the luxury restaurant zone, and over there is one restaurant that has two mask, that before one cartoon animator took and put it in cartoons as a ghosts or something like that I understood, that zone is so nice and when we finish the stairs we arrive to one road that lead us to the gold mine entrance, where the photo is taken, in the road I also took a photo in one kind of monument to the mine workers.

After we took photos in the entrance of the mine we came back to the street with the stores and we found a man writing Chinese name but he wrote it with Chinese calligraphy and so colorful, so pity there is one very pretty Japanese women buying a lot of names to take back home, so we had to wait a lot to get our name, and I did not want, for my good luck there is one man doing the same in Xi Men Tin, inside Taipei City. Later on we go back to the bus station, but as I did not eat anything before, Jerry found one store that sells mashed fish meat, that they make balls with the mash meet and later put it into soup, the flavor is not that bad, and besides that I ask my soup with some kind of transparent noodles.

Finally we took the bus to go back home, but since Jerry and Brian got sleep in the way, I had to take some photos of them sleeping most of the reason is because they both sleep with mouth open. We arrived Taipei and everyone go back home.

FACTORY TRIP

Before start I have to thank Prof. Wang and Alex that help to make this trip true, Dr. Wang pay all the car expenses, and give us a place to sleep in Hsin Chu, and Alex that arrange the factory visits with Dr. Wang help. I know it was very difficult for Alex coz many factories denied the entrance, but at the end we had two good and interesting factories to visit, one is compressor company and the other is steel company.
The date was at the lab at 9 am and we are supposed to come with our breakfast so we do not have to waste time in buying but most of the people did not prepare and we leaved the lab at 9:40 more or less, I have the pleasure to trip with Vic, Alex, and Jerry, it was nice trip, we play some old Taiwanese singer cassette, later one after one and a half or two hours of trip we arrive rechi, by the way Alex is an excellent driver.

Rechi is a company dedicated to the manufacturing of compressors, they have much kind of compressors and much size of diameter of each kind, the main use of these compressors is the air conditioner. They said they own big part of the market here in Asia and big part in USA, and they want to get new customers in countries like Latin America and Europe. After the presentation we visit the company installation and the first we saw is our study area, the department of Quality Control, later on, we saw machining areas, later on assembly areas and we finish our company visit. For the end they invite us the lunch, for my good luck they have chicken stake and green vegetables, that is the thing I eat almost every day. Finally we took picture in the entrance of the company. After that we come back to the car and my good friend Alex drive for other 2 hours more or less, we move from Taoyuan to Miaoli, I fall sleep in this trip and did not have the opportunity to enjoy the amazing Taiwan landscape, when I woke up, we was already in the next factory Dong He steel company.

Dong He steel company is very big company dedicated to the manufacturing of steel beans (H and I), and many other products, Dong He steel company owns the Taiwanese market and have some exportations, know they export to Arabic countries, and they become really strong recently because of the quality of their products and their efficiency. The speaker told us that the owner have some really cool policy about salary, each working member salary is in percentage of his own salary, so the lower level workers won around 10% of his salary, so is more fair for everybody. After the introduction of the factory we went to see the process, first we saw the recycling warehouse, with lots of tons of steel ready to be use again, later on we move to the casting area, so pity for some electricity fee policies, they were stopped until afternoon, so we could not see the process. Finally we move to the rolling and cutting process I saw before one steel rolling process in Shang Hai China but it was different product, in this case it was H bean, is amazing how they mold the steel, like if it was plasticine. At the end we came back and took the photo with at the entrance, they have a very beautiful and modern building. After that we travel to Dr. Wang home in Hsin Chu, the back trip was ok, I enjoy the landscape, and time with my trip mates, in the way I saw the sea, and some amazing winter energy makers, sorry I do not have the exact word, with me, but is amazing big mills, what tell me how Taiwan start to use green energy. After long way we arrive Hsin Chu, we stop to make some important questions to the Ping Lan ladies, and one friend from Chile got very good picture of one of them. Later on we arrive to a restaurant where we met Dr. Wang first generation student, he is very nice guy, and he will retire before 40 years old, coz he have been working very hard, I discover he has some similar plan like I have for the retirement, go to farming for him and his family, that is very nice, and healthy, later on he start talking about his working experience and how he claim that fast working places. The food was very expensive, and the place looks very expensive, for my taste some times it was too Taiwanese but some was very good, at the end, Dr. Wang pay for us, so thanks Dr. Wang, we finish meal and went Dr. Wang house for sleep.

Dr. Wang has very big house in Hsin Chu his parents leave it for him and later on, he said he expend 6 million in renovate it, but after it, he did not have time to go there and finish it, even when everything is new, and very expensive, is kind of dirty, coz no body live there and Dr. Wang do not have time to go and clean, but as I said is really big place and very pretty. We had to clean the floor where we going to sleep, so the first thing we do is cleaning, and after that everybody was so tired and exhausted that we decide to go for a beer (in my case one big bottle of water) we came back to the house, and talk for around 3 hours, but the problem is that my friend Jerry and Brian are not use to drink and with one beer they were drunk so it was funny how they act, and how red was their face, finally they got better sleep coz they were drunk.

Next day we woke up, and went to have breakfast at Hsin Chu center I hate some meet balls and rice noodle, my favorite now, finally we got very famous dessert next to the market where we had breakfast, and come back to Taipei.

I have to thanks again Dr. Wang, Alex, and my friends for this trip, this kind of trip not only help you to better know the industry that is useful for your career, also are memories that I will keep for my live, and help to make stronger friendship relation.

Food with school mates

Last April 9, school mates came to my house to have dinner with me, I cooked some special Mexican food for them, and they say, they really like it, I am not sure coz they do not eat that much, maybe coz must of them are girls, and they do not eat that much. After eat we saw a mexican movie, they say they also like and understand the movie.

I prepared for them vegetable soup, beans with cheese, Chilorio and potato and chicken fried tacos. I prepare the half in the morning and then we all come back to finish the preparation while other guys arrive. While we were preparing they were having fun with my traditional mexican hat, and wrestling mask. They also saw my wall photos, and asked a lot about my relatives, I showed to them, most of the people I love, is good your friends know better you.

Later on we move to my room and see the movie, is very interesting movie that talks about emigration but in the point of view of 8 to 10 years old kids, I tought if they saw that they will better undersatand the people that come from other countries to work taiwan and the same time could see the situation that is living other migrants around the girl, like Mexico, Cuba and Morroco, that is the countries that the movie have.

At the end they have to leave early coz they have many homework to do, but I am happy to make more friends, and become better friends.

I feel bad coz I can not invite my lab classmates, but the food will not be enought and the space in my house also, maybe next time I will hang out with them.

Introduce my self

Hi I am Javier Pedroza Cotera from Mexico.

I am 24 years old today april 10 2009

I am 1.65 cm tall, I weight 84 kg

My native language is spanish.

The color of my skin is brown.

My eyes are brown.

My favorite sport is Football(Soccer), I think i am quite talented for this
or maybe is because I suck that much in other sports that I think my soccer
skills are good.

My favorite color is blue and gold, coz blue means sky and the hope to go
to the heaven and coz gold is money and I really like money, well that is
half true, the really true is that my favorite soccer team colors are blue
and gold, and since I am fan of wear its playing t-shirt I always use those
colors, later one I start liking ferrari, so some times I also use red.

My favorite food is tacos, but those tacos of corner in mexico city, even
when one friend say it is like trash tacos, but I like it, and I will eat it
all the time, and also I saw one program of south park where they make
a racist commen that the only thing mexican eat is tacos, but do not care
I love tacos.

My hoobies, are quite common and not healty, see movies, see tv, play
soccer, and of course be with friends and family, that is the most important
thing. I have a soccer t-shirt collection and hope when i seld it all, i can
become rich, my collection come from 1997 until now, I only miss two
t-shirts my favorite mexican team have wear.

I am suppose to be majoring in History coz I really like history but
when I was 17 I figure out, study history in my country will be not
a good option, so I decide to change my mine and become Mechanical
Engineer, why?? I still do not know, I had hability for mathematics
so I decide, and since so many people is covering computer fields I tought
it will be very well pay job.

For the moment is all that come to my mind to talk about me, I am
much more complicated person hope you can visit my blog, I will try
to post more often, and share more about me, and the topics that interest
me.
